Smoky quartz, known in Greek as kapnías chalazías, “smoke-coloured quartz”, was revered in antiquity as krýstallos, a form of divine ice believed to be solidified by the gods. Associated with Greek Goddess Hecate, it was seen as a stone of shadow, protection, and passage between worlds. Its ancient purpose reimagined in this choker form.
